Resonance

Updated: Nov 2, 2024

An exhibition of my current work

Reflecting on the theme of resonance, this body of work explores how traditional crafts connect the personal lives of women across generations, highlighting the ways in which skills and stories are inherited and passed on. Through the creation of domestic objects from clay, displayed in a manner reminiscent of a family tree or traditional plate wall hanging, I delve into the rich narratives embedded within my family history. By arranging them collectively, I create a visual narrative that echoes familial connections, inviting viewers to reflect on their own histories and the narratives that define them.

This collection is a tribute to the women who have influenced my journey, illuminating the profound connections between craft and identity. By engaging with familiar forms of domestic life, I hope to evoke appreciation for the beauty found in these objects and the stories woven into the fabric of our homes. In doing so, I highlight the enduring impact of women's crafts, which resonate throughout generations, connecting us across time and space.

A special thank you to my mother for her inspiration and collaboration on this project.
